Who We Are
Marulapi Hunting Safaris is situated in the tranquil western bush veld in the Limpopo province of South Africa. The farm consists of 4700 acres of privately owned land with an additional 5000 acres of pristine hunting concessions. Marulapi Hunting Safaris is a mere 3 hour comfortable drive from OR Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg).
Our mission is to give every hunter a once in a lifetime safari experience, one that you will remember for days to come and excited to tell your friends and family about. We adhere to the PHASA (Professional Hunter's Association of South Africa) code of conduct. Click here to read the PHASA code of conduct & mission statement.
We are situated in a predominately Malaria free area. No special inoculations are required for South Africa unless you are from a North or Central African country where yellow fever may occur. Although your family practitioner may prescribe certain precautionary inoculations and medicine, which is always advisable.
Should your flight land after 17:00 South-African time, we highly recommend Africa Sky Guesthouse which is a mere 10km from OR Tambo International Airport.
They also offer pick-up and off-load services. (www.africasky.co.za) Marulapi Hunting Safaris will pick you up on their doorstep early the next morning to start your Unforgettable hunting experience.
Please bring your mobile phone or tablet along as there is free WI-FI available in the lounge/bar area. Do not forget to apply for roaming with your mobile service provider before commencing travel.
Your hunt is likely to take place during our winter periods, thus expect chilly mornings, warm to sunny days and cool to cold evenings. Rain is unlikely during hunting season.
Long trousers are recommended for hunting. Two pairs of comfortable hunting boots and four pairs of hunting clothes should be more than enough as laundry services are available.
It is always good to have travel insurance upon commencing any travel or hunting safari. Hospitals are 40 minutes drive from the lodge, should there be an emergency. All hunting vehicles and lodges are equipped with first aid kits.
Rifle & Ammunition
For any antelope and other medium plains game a calibre bigger than a .300 will be efficient. For any of the big five or dangerous game a minimum calibre of a .375 is needed. Heavy premium quality bullets are recommended. Remember shoot with the rifle that you are most comfortable with. Rifles and ammo are also available for renting at the lodge.
